HardnessHardness is the concentration of calcium and magnesium in the water. There are two kinds of hardness: Temporary Hardness: Ca and Mg bicarbonates (precipitate minerals upon heating) Permanent Hardness: Ca and Mg sulfates or chlorides (dissolve with sodium)
Often, hardness is described in degrees. There are several kinds of
