Gize - the gold-filtered mineral water from Canada - was revered by the Mi'kmaq people as early as 1500 as a fountain of youth with special healing properties. It also drew bathers from around the world in the 19th century, including members of Great Britain's high nobility, not the least of which was the Prince of Wales, who would go on to become King George V. However, it would take more than 100 years for the water - refined and perfected through gold filtering - to make its way into the world, under the name of Gize. Unlike most waters in Germany, the luxury water is officially designated a mineral water. This makes Gize one of only 40 foreign mineral waters - and the only one from North America - to meet these strict criteria.
